Emma Martin-Rousselle

Hi UBC Arts! My name is Emma (she/her) and I am so honoured to be your AUS President! I am in my third year, studying in the B+MM program with a major in Sociology & a minor in Environment & Society.

On the rare occasion that I’m not camping out in the AUS office, you can find me checking events & places off my Vancouver bucket list, fuelling my caffeine dependency at Starbucks, or giving campus tours through my job as a UBC Student Ambassador.

Over the past two years, the AUS has become my home on campus, and I look forward to seeing AUS initiatives help Arts students to find their community, too. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me for any questions or concerns – or even just to connect! You can reach me at, or via. my personal Instagram @emmamartinrousselle.

Ayesha Irfan

VP Arts Caucus

Hi UBC Arts! My name is Ayesha (she/her) and I am super EXCITED to be your first-ever VP Arts Caucus! I am in my second year, studying Political Science and Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice.

When I am not in AUS land you can catch me at your local bookstore buying a bunch of books I definitely don’t need or out on a run at your nearest trail!

I am super pumped to be representing you and working with Art students to ensure that student voices are heard in decision-making spaces! I joined the AUS in my first year and can confidently say that this space is what I look forward to the most when I think of UBC.

If you ever have any questions about the AMS, First Year Committee, or Upper Year Committee, please free to reach me at

Leah Liji

VP Finance

Hey UBC Arts, my name is Leah Liji (she/her) and I’m so excited to be your VP Finance this year!

Financial literacy is one of my passions and I am so proud to be spearheading a series of student-oriented workshops about credit and investing. As VP Finance I take care of the AUS’s financial health by managing grants, reimbursements and optimizing budget allocation to support our initiatives on campus.

If I’m not looking at a budget report you might catch me yapping about my favorite tv show/the recent F1 race, playing soccer, or helping clients at my job at TD Canada Trust. Hit me up if you have any questions (finance or not) through email, or @leahliji on Instagram.

Julia Do

VP Internal

Hi UBC Arts! I'm Julia (she/her) and I'm honored to be your Vice-President Internal this year. I'm heading into my third year double majoring in Political Science and Chemistry. In my free time, I like to lounge at the beach, explore Vancouver ramen restaurants, kayak, or whitewater rafting!

I joined the AUS last year as a transfer student - and I am incredibly grateful for the people and community I have found. This year, I hope to create opportunities for student leadership through recruitment and elections, while enabling AUS members to find their community with BBQs and Retreats.

Kaysan Adriyanto

VP Administration

Hey, y’all! I’m Kaysan (he/him), your AUS VP Administration this year. I’m a third-year international student from Jakarta, Indonesia, majoring in Political Science.

Aside from overseeing the AUS’s Operations, Governance, and Sustainability departments with the rest of the team, I’d probably be cat-sitting, museum-hopping, boba-tasting, thrifting, or recreating my dream apartment in the Sims 4.

This is my third year in the AUS, which has since been my home away from home. I’m excited to connect with students about all the exciting things the AUS has to offer. The Administration Portfolio has so many initiatives in-store – making our Arts Student Centre a lively hub, upholding transparency in AUS Council, and providing various Food Hub services to name a few. Feel free to reach out at or on Instagram @kaysan.kaysan!

Hey everyone! My name is Ashley Haines (she/her) and I am so excited to be your Vice President External this year! I am in my fifth year studying International Relations and Sociology.

In my free time aside from overseeing the Sponsorship and Philanthropy departments, you can find me curating Spotify playlists, catching sunsets, going to fairs specifically to pet cows, binging trashy reality TV, and working at YVR Airport!

This is my third year in the AUS, and I am so thankful to have met the people I have (some who have become lifelong friends!) and created so many amazing memories thus far—the same goes for this academic year! Mehak Fatima

Equity Commissioner

mehak website pic.jpeg

Hello my beautiful people! My name is Mehak Fatima (she/her) and I am ecstatic to be your Equity Commissioner this year! I am going into my 3rd year majoring in Psychology. If I am not locked up in my dorm binging stuff on Netflix and bopping to K-Pop, I’ll either be at the ASC navigating AUS tasks, or I’m probably wandering around campus, trying out different food places.

I’ve been with the AUS for the last 2 years and it has always been a home to me. I want nothing more than to make it a home for my fellow Arts students as well. This year I want to create a fun and safe platform for every student like me, who feels a little out of place and lost in this crazy uni world.

So please do feel free to reach out to me and I’ll try to do everything I can to be of any help (or we can just connect and rant about random stuff!). You can email me at or just send a DM on my Instagram @mehakxfatima
